Students score high on college entrance exams

As in years prior, STISD students continue to outperform their peers on the state and national level when it comes to college entrance exam scores.

STISD deputy superintendent Jeff Hembree provided the College Entrance Test Multiple-Year Trend Report to the STISD Board of Directors as part of the Dec. 1 board meeting agenda.

With a Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) score of 1051, the STISD Class of 2015 scored higher than the national and state numbers of 1006 (national) and 956 (state), respectively.  Averaging 22.1 on the American College Test (ACT), STISD students also performed better than the national and state numbers of 21.0 (national) and 20.9 (state), respectively.  The same trends can be seen throughout the 14 years reflected within the report.
